New Partnership: Creative England Enterprise Evolve

Earlier this year Wrapt Films were very happy to be one of 20 creative businesses selected from across the UK for Creative England’s Enterprise Evolve programme.

Creative Enterprise Evolve is a unique development programme for companies seeking investment for business growth brought to you in partnership with the British Film Institute and the UK Business Angels Association. The programme supports businesses working exclusively in “moving image” for storytelling – spanning film, television, games and technology.

The programme is designed by investors and delivered through a sequence of one-to-one sessions, direct investor meetings, pitching platforms and combined peer-to-peer group workshops intended to prepare our company for investment.

Being part of the programme means we’ve done all the things we normally say we’re too busy to focus on! Business diagnostics, growth roadmaps, strategic investment aims and writing our new business plan and investment pitch. We’ve met lots of nice people on the same kind of trajectory and lots of experts in things we previously knew very little about.

We’re being mentored to investment readiness by the pragmatic business smarts of Dr. Angus Finney, former MD of Oscar winning production company Renaissance Films, course director at the London Film School’s and Exeter University’s MA in International Film Business; and a visiting lecturer on film and media businesses at Judge Business School, Cambridge University plus the writer of many great books on the film industry.

Wrapt Films were selected because storytelling for entertainment is a core component of the business alongside our ambitions for company growth, clear vision of the future and our track record in film and TV.

What was particularly refreshing was to be told that our business model of combining third party client work in high end corporate video and online commercials with self-financing development of new talent and entertainment properties was highly appealing to investors.

It means there’s big things coming for Wrapt Films over the next 12-24 months. We’ll keep you posted.
